A consultation will open the door to inspiration to discover what your space needs in order to make it truly your own. If you have a design idea in mind, searching for the right piece for your space can be time consuming, exhausting and frustrating. Custom work takes the frustration out of the equation and replaces it with the fulfillment of knowing you’ve had your hand in designing a piece that will be passed down for generations.

Consult
Through our discovery consultation, we learn more about you, your ideas, and intended use of the furniture. With hand sketches and creative minds, we discuss a general scope of your budget, delivery details, timelines, and material specifications. Being prepared with measurements and images will help ensure your custom furniture project is completed on time, to your satisfaction, and on budget.
Concept
Concept drawings are prepared and then reviewed together with any revisions to finalize the price. Once approved, a 50% deposit will be required. Payment can be made by bank draft, cheque, or e-transfer. Any change orders made after approval may affect production and delivery. Depending on the details, a custom piece can take anywhere from 3 to 10 weeks from start to finish.
Create
Let the fun begin! After contract signing and deposit is paid, materials are hand-picked and purchased. Finishing products vary based on uses of the furniture piece. Most furniture made by Marka Furniture Co. is finished with a Matte or Satin Osmo Polyx Oil*, a combination of natural vegetable oils. Final payment of your remaining balance will be due prior to arranging delivery and installation.
*Osmos microporous finish preserves the natural beauty and durability of the wood. The products are based on rapidly renewable, natural vegetable oils that penetrate the wood keeping it elastic and healthy, preventing it from drying and becoming brittle. Osmo is available in Matte and Satin finish as well as a variety of stain colours to produce just the right tone for your piece.
